More than 140 Universal Technical Institute-Rancho Cucamonga area students and family members test-drive skilled trades careers

Technicians wanted: National career expo comes to Universal Technical Institute-Rancho Cucamonga

Rancho Cucamonga, CA – Jan. 22, 2019 – As the need for skilled workers continues to grow both nationwide and in California, local students and employers came together on Thursday, Jan. 17 to explore the growing opportunities for transportation technicians. The event was one of 13 career expos held at Universal Technical Institute campuses across the country.

“AutoZoners work in various highly-skilled fields and Universal Technical Institute’s training program prepares them for work on the job,” said Miguel Bracamontes, Field HR Generalist at AutoZone.” At UTI’s open house, we were able to connect with many students in an effort to ascertain what their career goals are and discuss potential job opportunities that we have for them.”

AutoZone was just one of 11 local companies – including Valvoline Instant Oil Change, Pep Boys, Moss Bros Auto Group, Ryder System Inc., Raymond Handling Solutions, Travel Centers of America, Icahn Automotive, RDO Equipment Co., Haas Factory Outlet – Anaheim, and Discount Tires at the event.

Guests experienced live demonstrations of the Dyno and saw the vehicles and technology students work on during their training and met with instructors to discuss curriculum. At Universal Technical Institute-Rancho Cucamonga students can study automotive, diesel and welding. Students can complete their core training and be ready to work in as little as 11 months.

Prospective UTI students and their families tour the auto labs with a UTI instructor to get a glimpse of the hands-on learning offered at UTI.
